Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Mormons

Have the Mormons ever left you unsure of what to say?

Their arguments often seem convincing, and their stand on what they believe is firm.

How can you effectively communicate to the Mormons that their gospel does not match up with the Bible? One of the best ways is to ask strategic, penetrating questions.

This book helps you understand the main points of Mormonism and discover where it falls short of God's truth. It also provides over 350 questions you can ask that challenge:

Following are some comments from unsolicited letters:

"A great resource to share the Christian faith with Mormons! This book is an excellent resource for anyone who wants to be able to intelligently discuss the discrepancies between the Mormon and Christian faiths. It clearly shows the contradictions and logical fallacies of the doctrines the Mormons believe."

"An essential! Without the research you provided, I would not have a working knowledge to defend truth from the false teaching of Mormonism. This publication can be used to cause doubt in the hearts of Mormons and show them the false theology of Mormonism."

"I have very much enjoyed your books on Reasoning from the Scriptures. I've found them invaluable in working with both JW and Mormon friends and acquaintances."

"I've thoroughly enjoyed your books on Reasoning from the Scriptures for both Mormons and JWs. Thank you for writing such clear and effective books in equipping Christians in combating heresy."

"Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Mormons is one of the most exhaustive and beneficial writings to come along in recent years. Its value will be far-reaching to assist Christians to better defend and share their faith with Mormons."

"I have purchased your book, Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Mormons, and have used it as a main source in teaching an adult Sunday School class in the church I attend here in Kansas City, Missouri. May God grant you the grace and perseverance which He gave Dr. Walter Martin."

"The question on the back of the book is what drew me in. I purchased this book because my neighbors are Mormons and we have also been sharing with some Mormon missionaries. Therefore I wanted to be educated on the subject, supported by Scripture. I was impressed with the layout of this book and really picked up some excellent points from reading it. I now feel that I can more adequately share what I believe in comparison with what they believe, using Scriptures to back me up. The thing I like about this book is that it gives the reader actual points to discuss with the Mormons. There are questions to ask them that will have them look at the Bible and determine what is really truth."

Following is a book review in the Personal Freedom Outreach Journal:

Borrowing from the title and format of his previous work on Jehovah’s Witnesses, apologist Ron Rhodes combines his efforts with Marian Bodine in a critique of the weighty theological errors of the Mormon Church.

The authors examine in great detail the Latter-day Saint concept of God and Jesus Christ, claims and problems of The Book of Mormon, the devaluation of the Bible, modern-day revelation to modern-day prophets, the Mormon priesthood, and a lengthy section on salvation in the LDS Church. Also covered is a brief historical outline of the Mormon church and suggestions for witnessing to active members and missionaries.

Mormon beliefs are thoroughly contrasted with Christian theology and thought-provoking questions are intermingled throughout the book designed to stimulate discussion with Mormons. The book can be used as an in-depth study or as a ready reference.

The volume also contains helpful subject and scripture indexes. The only thing lacking is an index of LDS scripture references which would have been equally useful.

The book has been fittingly dedicated to Jerry Bodine, the late husband of co-author Marian, who passed away shortly before the publication’s release. Jerry was involved for many years as a researcher of Mormonism and in actively witnessing to its adherents.

Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Mormons is one of the most exhaustive and beneficial writings to come along in recent years. Its value will be far-reaching to assist Christians to better defend and share their faith with Mormons.

This book is a valuable resource for responding to Mormons with confidence and power. The authors enable readers to understand the basic teachings of Mormonism and how their gospel does not match up with biblical teaching. Then they equip Christians to ask strategic questions to challenge the basic teachings of this cult. This is an excellent and invaluable resource for presenting the Gospel to Mormons and should be in every church library.
