• We are to “destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God” (2 Corinthians 10:5).

• We must “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).

• The apostle Paul set an example for us in “the defense and confirmation of the gospel” (Philippians 1:7).

• Apollos set another example, as he “powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus” (Acts 18:28).
